Baby, It's Cold Outside...

Baby, it's cold outside...

We have plenty of snow on the ground in Northern Colorado, and the temperatures are slipping to below zero tonight. My husband and I left Florida when we retired so we could enjoy change of seasons. We're getting exactly what we asked for. I will not complain about the snow or the cold.

I will, however, wear more clothes the next time I come to our Northern Colorado Writers studio to write. The ceilings here are pretty high, the heat blowers are up by the ceiling, and heat rises. While typing this post, I'm huddled over my laptop with my extra-warm Colorado State University jacket tucked in around my lap to keep my legs warm.

But these are small inconveniences, and sometimes wonderful things happen when we least expect them. In my case, a writer/blogger friend dropped by the studio and handed me a bag of her homemade baklava and koulourakia (do I have that right, Kay?). I sampled one of the cookies before she was barely out the door. Absolutely delicious! So I had another one.

And now I'm feeling warm all over.

LOL, and have another one for me! It's starting to snow here in SE Michigan, 3" they say coming, followed by freezing sleet and rain.

Lovely.

If you won't complain about the cold, I will... Brrr. I want it to go away. Actually, it is not too bad if you layer up.

I'm so happy I live in Florida and only see snow on the news!

I can now tell you that Kay's baklava is also really yummy.

We don't have snow in Northwest Georgia, but we are having heavy rain, high winds, and a chance of tornadoes tonight. Such strange weather all over these days. The baklava sounds wonderful. Stay warm.

I'm not far from Mason and we're having rotten weather here, too. Ick. Heavy rain, thunder, wind. Crazy weather. Stay warm!

Actually, I'm looking forward to it! We leave for Colorado tomorrow. We've been running the air conditioner here for the last few days. It's December. That is WRONG.

Stay warm and keep writing, Patricia. It was -7 when I walked the dog this morning. Brr! They say we might reach 20 today. I hope so.

Even in South Texas it's comparatively cold. 30s right now. And the temps will dip below freezing tonight. Considering we had three straight months of 100+ temps over the summer, it's a big change of seasons here, too.

Sounds like messy weather all over the country. But I'm thinking most about Terry who's traveling from warm and cozy Florida to frigid Denver. Don't forget your long underwear and your ear muffs, Terry.

It's cold(er) here in ABQ as well, but still comfortable. We also were in search of change of seaons and love the results. Very happy here.

Best, Galen.
