Talking About My Town in Northern Colorado

My Town is famous. My Town is in the news all the time.

We got yer internationally famous balloon boy hoax.

And we got yer medical marijuana dispensaries spreading like weeds.

And we got yer burlesque booty school at the Cupcake Cabaret.

And we even got yer zombies.

My interview with Brian Kaufman (the zombie writer) is a guest post today at Paul Brazill's blog:

I hope you'll stop by and check it out. It's kinda fun.

Never a dull moment where you live! The zombies are far and away my favourite from that list!!

I enjoyed the interview, and I enjoy driving through your town. I always pass through on the Interstate, but someday I'm going to stop and look around.

Thanks to everyone who stopped over and read the zombie writer interview. It was a great bit of fun. Don't tell Paul I had to look up "cracker" in a dictionary of UK slang. For anyone who wondered, it means he thought it was most excellent. :)

Gary -- Northern Colorado is a lot different from Texas, isn't it? We have some nice towns up here, and you probably know how often mine shows up on lists of best places.

Patricia, I've just got back from a week in my home town so I'm slipping into the dialect even more than ususal!

Paul -- Oops, you caught me.

I often chuckle as I read the comments on posts at your blog. Our slang has developed in totally different directions -- "cracker" means something quite different in the U.S.

Remember the discussions a few months ago with Col Bury about "drawings"? Now I'm thinking this topic will make a great post for one of my monthly contributions to The Blood-Red Pencil blog.
