As Predicted -- The Winter Storm is On Its Way

I mentioned in an earlier post that my crocuses were blooming and the tulips and daffodils were up. Now those daffodils have big buds about ready to bloom.

And, as predicted, we have a winter storm warning for Northern Colorado. Between this evening and tomorrow night, we could get between 6 and 12 inches of snow. I have a few large, empty plastic flower pots, so I'll place them over the bloomin' plants in an effort to keep them from getting squashed.

Except for this minor inconvenience, I love the March and April snows here. The fierce weather is often sandwiched between groups of warm days in the 50s and 60s. The snow consists of big, wet flakes. Even after significant accumulation, it melts quickly on the warming ground and pavement.

This storm is conveniently timed since I need to stay home, finish those manuscript revisions, write my April blog posts for The Blood-Red Pencil, and put some kind of order to my To Do List.

In the spirit of doing different stuff, however, I have a plan for this snowstorm that's a bit out of the ordinary. If the snow is "construction quality," I'm going to take a break from inside chores and make a snowman. I haven't done that in years. If this happens, I'll post a photo. If I fail, I'll confess. Stay tuned.

During my "Do Everything Different Day" yesterday, I was energized. If I can do at least one different activity every day, or even do a routine activity differently, perhaps I can carry that energy forward. Can't hurt to try.

Now if we had a big snowstorm in L.A., that would be really different. I can only wish.

I hope your snow is snowman snow!

We've had incredible weather for the past week or two as well. My crocuses are up and smiling at me :)

Our forecast is calling for snow starting on the weekend, just in time for kids (and me) to go back to school after the spring break. Should be ineresting!

Oh, I hope you can build a snowman. Sometimes we really just need to play.

We are possibly going to get a light frost here in East Texas this weekend. Part of that storm system you might be getting. Thanks goodness I have lots of hay to cover my garden.

Winter storm! It's definitely spring here in London, UK. We have had a difficult winter -- for us, anyway.

I wish I had your energy. I should plan to do one crazy thing a day. And I'm sorry that you're having a bad winter year.

I'm so over-caffeinated and off schedule (because of doing out-of-the-ordinary things?) that I almost wrote a new post this afternoon, forgetting I did my post earlier than usual today. I really must pull it together.

Greetings all -- I'm guessing spring is just around the corner for most of us. I'm ready.

It is hard to believe in this afternoon's over 60 weather that we have that storm coming. I am kind of hoping they have over-predicted this one.
We'll see. Looking forward to pics of your snowman.

I certainly don’t miss the snow, but I am looking forward to seeing your snowman!)

I like the idea of a Do Everything Different Day.

My DH is in Colorado. He will be flying out tomorrow. He called to say he had changed plans and canceled an overnight stay outside of Denver. He's checked into an airport hotel so he won't miss his flight because of the snow.

We're expecting snow tomorrow in Salt Lake City. And like you, I have spring flowers that are up. Never fails. I just hope the blossoms don't freeze. I always seem to be a season behind, wanting winter when it's spring, spring when it's summer. I think it has something to do with manuscript deadlines. Anyway that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. Enjoy your snow!!!

LOVE a good winter storm when I need to hole up and get something done at home. Go for it, enjoy it. Here in SE Michigan we have unseasonably warm weater - low 60's and sunny in March! Pretty cool. (pun intended)

I'm loving the snowy day. I didn't go out and cover my daffodils--I hope they make through ok.

I hope we don't get Sheila's Brush here in Nova Scotia - we've had the best March Break ever - sunny every darn day and warm enough! I need it like anything...

I hope you do make a snowWOman! Sounds like fun! I will be blogging about my visit to the Margaret Mitchell house this week in Atlanta, Georgia. I learned a lot!

Have fun with your snow person! We're supposed to get cold rain from our end of your storm.
