Just Bits, No Pieces

First of all, let me remind everyone that tomorrow is guest blogger day, and guess who's stopping by...

Let me give you a hint--the schedule is over there in my sidebar.

Yep, Terry Odell is going to tell you how she happened to become a writer. As you'd expect, Terry took one of those less-traveled paths, so you don't want to miss her story.

Blog Book Tours

In addition to the Thursday guest blogger series, I'll be opening more guest slots to authors on blog book tours. These tours are great promotional options for writers with new releases, and they're also a powerful tool for attracting new traffic to our blogs.

Just Bits

I'm working on my manuscript today. At least four hours. Today. No matter what. And at least four hours each on Friday and Saturday, too. Yep. No matter what.

And as we all know, those are the words that tempt fate...

ooh had to do this twice due to post pixie.
Patricia - good luck with your marathon writing bursts. I think, if possible, I would like to do that this weekend as the next three days are full. I also want to shift my writing space downstairs as we get ready for our international student so time might be precious. I offer you a reverse hex for the one that may be upon you for declaring your intention today - repeat these words
'As a writer, my intentions I will tell.
Be gone you wicked time-wasting spell.'
And then put some seed out for the birds. That's it. You'll work now. Jan Morrison

Patricia - Good for you to focus on your manuscript. I'm impressed. And I look forward to reading Terry's story tomorrow.

If I set a 4 hour block of time to write, I wonder how much writing I'd actually get done? All those distractions. I'm still one of those 'word count' people, so if I add 1000 words to the WIP, I'm happy, no matter how long it takes.

Jan, I love the reverse hex -- I'm going to copy and paste it onto a page (2 actually), make the letters real big, and post one copy on my door for dearest husband and one copy above my computer monitor to remind me to stay off the Internet. And I think I have some birdseed in the garage...

Thanks to everyone else for supportive thoughts and good wishes. And if anyone notices me sneaking around on Twitter or Facebook today, feel free to slap my hands.

I'll have to stop back - I like Terry's writing, bet she'll have something good to share. Best wishes for a good 4 hr ms session, too. :)

Hey Pat - I'm taking my new novel, Beware the Devil's Hug on virtual blog book tour in October. Could I interest you in hosting a stop? If so, contact me off-blog at marvwilson2020atgmaildotcom, ok?

Okay, you've inspired me to put in some hours on my ms. I've been needing to for some time. I'm determined to now. I hope your writing time goes well.
