Author KK Brees

When I took Dani Greer's online Blog Book Tour class in 2009, I connected with quite a few wonderful bloggers who've stayed in touch. Karen Brees is one of those friends.

At the time we took the class, Karen's current release was The Complete Idiot's Guide to Preserving Food. Now she's taken another writing path. Her novel, Headwind: The Intrepid Adventures of OSS Agent Katrin Nissen, is now available at amazon.com under her new writing name, KK Brees.

I've posted the book trailer here today. You can visit Karen's website for more information. She also blogs at KK Brees on Writing.

I remember when book trailers first appeared on the promotion scene, I couldn't imagine them being terribly useful. I've changed my mind on that.

I suspect the biggest problem for an author is getting a trailer noticed among the hundreds and thousands of new posts each day. Since I don't have time to lurk at You Tube and search for authors or book titles, and since I don't always see your blog on the day you make announcements, I'll trust you to let me know when you have a new book (and book trailer). Whenever possible, I'll post your information here.

Thanks for hosting me today, Patricia. I learned a great deal from Dani and made some super friends there.

The trailer sold me. I've added Intrepid to my TBR. I love that era. My mother was a young woman and her now husband flew a spy plane over Japan, with one bullet to take his own life if he was caught. The war separated them, or he might have been my father. At their 50th class reunion they met again and tied the knot. Yes folks, sometimes fairy tale romances do come true.

Patricia - Thanks for sharing this great trailer!

Karen- I really like this! I especially like the feel it has for the era in which your story takes place. I wish you the best with your work!

Nancy and Margot, thanks much! The WWII era is my favorite for both novels and movies. The trailer was my first effort and fortunately I've got a great web guy, Murray Fins, who made my life easier.

Okay, let me try again. Good morning!

Karen, it's great to have this chance to feature your trailer and talk about the book. I'm really looking forward to reading Headwind.

Nancy, I love the story of your mom reconnecting with her earlier love. Has she ever seen the BBC series "As Time Goes By" with Judi Dench? Some amazing parallels there.

Hi Margot - You can see I'm really getting hooked on these book trailers. It's a fun way to spread the word.

As always, thanks Pat for introducing me to a new writer.

As someone above commented, the way the author's mother connect with her first love parallels the way Jean Pargiter and Lionel Hardcastle connect in As Time Goes By, my daughter and my favorite series!

This is a great trailer. I love this time period. I'm heading over to B&N to get the book for my e-reader!

I know KK!
And you know about my trailer.
No idea how to get others to find it. I've just been fortunate that so many bloggers thought it was cool and reposted it.

Karen, its great too see you back and active in the world og Blogdom! Best wishes on the success of your new venture. ANd I felt the same way about trailers. I need to ask my nephew how much he'll charge to do one for me. Have a great week.

Thanks Alex and Stephen. It feels good to be working on my own stuff and not just work for hire. Makes it easier to stay the course and remain committed.

Congrats to KK! The trailer is great - I agree, it is hard to get your trailer's noticed. I've had alright succes with a few of mine, but I wouldn't say they've helped see the book. It's more like a nice add-on.

When book trailers first started coming out, I couldn’t really see the benefit of them, but they’ve gotten so much better. I thought Karen’s trailer was very intriguing. It caused me to add her book to my want-to-read list.

Thanks Jane and welcome to my world. Glad you enjoyed the trailer.

Patricia, Thanks for the opportunity today. I enjoyed it immensely.

KK, love the trailer, especially the music, very upbeat and a touch of mystery. Well done!

And Pat, your new blog design looks good. I can't imagine why I didn't stop by more often. I think it's because I put your blog in another blog roll. Must do some housekeeping on the blog rolls soon.

Karen, I enjoyed having you here and now getting to read the rest of the comments.

I was flying home from San Francisco yesterday (after visiting kids), so didn't get online again until this morning. Thanks to you, and to all our blogger friends who came by.
