Worst Movies Ever Blogfest!

Quoting from Alex J. Cavanaugh's blog: "On Monday, September 19, post a list of up to ten of the worst movies you’ve ever had the misfortune to watch. Films that just oozed awfulness and featured plot holes so big you could drive a bus through them. Any genre or year, but only theater and straight to video/DVD titles. (Otherwise we’d all list every movie ever made by the SyFy Channel!) Sign up, grab the button, and on September 19, give us the worst! And be sure to visit others participating in the blogfest."

Go to Alex's blog to sign on and pick up the blogfest logo.

Are You Going to Join NaNoWriMo This Year?

If you don't already know about National Novel Writing Month in November, you're probably not a writer.

So writers, have you participated in NaNoWriMo before? If so, tell us about your experience. Are you going to do it this year? Why or why not?

I've decided to give it a try. Since my current WIP, which I'm finally wrapping up, took two years to write, I need to try a focused program and see how fast I could work if I put my mind to it. I figure if I lay in a good supply of coffee and chocolate, and restrict my To Do List to high priority items, I can do it.

Last year I had decided to give it a try and then chickened out before I'd even signed up at the NaNoWriMo website. This year I think I can, I think I can...

Great News From Kerrie Flanagan, Director of Northern Colorado Writers

Congratulations to Kerrie who has an article on marketing published in the front of Writer's Market 2012. That's a wonderful accomplishment, Kerrie.

As to NaNoWriMo - I think not. I did it one year and I'm still trying to make sense of what I wrote. Last year, I think, I decided to do a revision in the same time but I didn't stay focussed. Nope - just going to plod along like the old dame I am.

I'm undecided about Nano, that's one of my busiest times of year as a skating coach. But I am excited about Alex's blogfest in Sept. :)

I'm so looking forward to Alex's blogfest. So far, I've participated in all four of his blogfests, and loved them equally as much. :)

Hi Jan, I figure I should try it at least once. If I can get a first draft worth working on, that would be great.

KMC and Neb, welcome. I haven't been able to do any of Alex's blogfests due to timing or because I know so little about the movie or music genre he focuses on. However, one thing I do know about is bad movies. This should be fun.

Pat - Thanks for these links to blogfests and contests. I'll have to think about that movie thing...

In the meantime, I look forward to Mark Stevens' visit tomorrow.

And about NaNoWriMo? I'm not going to be doing that. I'm busy working on two other writing projects, and just won't be able to dive properly into a third. I wish each day had 50 hours...

Margot, 50 hours each day would be great. If you figure out how to do that, let me know. Of course, we'd manage to come up with 60 hours of To Dos per day, I'm sure. :)

I just signed up for Alex's blogfest--sounds fun.

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year because it just isn't going to work with the writing schedule I've already decided on for the remainder of the year. Maybe next year!

Hi Heidi -- I've already started jotting down my list of worst movies for the blogfest. It's funny trying to remember those I tried so hard to forget after I saw them.

Thanks for the shout-out about my blogfest! It's going to be awesome.
I did NaNo last year and will probably do it again. Hope I have an idea by November!

Alex, getting ideas is never my problem. Keeping my rear end in the chair and my hands on the keyboard is where I slip up. :)

Can't wait to see Alex's blogfest. I've seen so many terrible movies I'm surprised my eyes haven't fallen out yet.

As for the Nano...maybe. Just maybe. I'll have to see how badly my schedule is going to be compacted.

Marlena -- I'm going to make NaNoWriMo the most important thing on my schedule (besides hubby and Katie Kitten, of course). Of course, now that I've said that, something important is sure to make the challenge more interesting. :)

I just checked out the Nano site. Very intriguing. I know participating would force me to put aside other projects, which may not be a bad idea. One focus for a whole month is a refresing idea. I'd be pressed to complete, but I get it...that's the point.

Hmmmmm, thinking about this some more.

So cool about Kerrie, too!
