Have you ever seen a fox on a fence?

I sure hadn't, so when we spotted this fox in our yard earlier this year, I grabbed my camera and caught a photo before he got away. I'm not sure what he was hoping to find. Katie Kitten was safely inside the house, and that pathetic dried up apple didn't look very appetizing.

And that's all I have for you today, my friends. I have my nose to the NaNoWriMo grindstone, and I'm posting a short report about my progress tomorrow at Chiseled in Rock. See you then.

Pat - Oh, that's a great picture! You never know when you'll come across a critter like that. I'm so glad you got that shot and shared it with us. Looking forward to your NaNoWriMo update.

Very glad your kitty was inside! That is a very cool pic though! I love the wildlife that comes to visit now and then.

Thanks for this, Pat! I love foxes - wish they lived nearer!

I've seen one scamper over a 6 foot fence like it wasn't even there...but never posed on top.

Keep Katie Kitten safe and keep writing!

I suspect this fox or one of her family hunts for small creatures. It does seem the outdoor cat population has decreased over the last year, although some of those cats are almost as big as foxes.

But Katie Cat is not allowed out without her harness and leash (and one of her humans), so she should be safe.

The foxes around here can be quite bold. A friend of mine had one that would sit on her back porch and look in at her little dogs.

Great picture!

We don't have many foxes around here, but the coyotes patrol our streets and fence lines like they are looking at a pet buffet. Cat's that get out don't last very long. If you let your dog out in your back yard, you have to stay with them at all times.

He must have misunderstood that saying about sitting on the fence :)
