Wow. 2012. How did this happen?

Time sure flies when we're having fun, doesn't it?

The snow has almost melted on the Northern Colorado Front Range and we're getting warmer temperatures way too early in the year. That usually triggers the crocuses and daffodils and tulips to start growing, and that usually results in early blooming spring flowers crushed under a new layer of spring snow.

Makes for a pretty photo though.

My blog vacation is almost over. I'll have a new post up at Chiseled in Rock blog on Tuesday. As you can see in my sidebar, I'm filling in the guest blogger schedule for the first half of the year. If you're an author with a novel coming out in 2012, and if you want to write a guest post for me, just let me know. I'm looking for mostly mystery/thriller writers, but I like to mix it up with other genres from time to time. All writers of all genres have interesting things to say about the writing life.

Katie Cat is doing very well these days. She's a bit mischievous and very demanding. You'd think she owned the place and that my husband and I were the pets.

When Katie decides she wants to play shoestring or chase around the house, she loudly and persistently meows until one of us gives in and starts playtime.

One of the things I'm doing today and tomorrow is arranging my calendar for 2012, setting goals, and making schedules. Katie helps me by sitting on my calendar and chewing on the pages.

See you Tuesday at Chiseled in Rock where I'll have a few suggestions for taking advantage of social media opportunities in 2012.

Sorry your snow is melting. And Katie IS the owner because no one really owns a cat.

Cats really believe they're king or queen. Our old lady is slowing down and sleeping 23 hours per day instead of 20.

Katie just bit me again, so she's on "mean kitty timeout" for the rest of the day. She says this business of holding her vertical for 10-15 minutes after a feeding has to stop. I'm inclined to agree with her. It's getting too dangerous...for me. :)

It's so hard to believe it's 2012 already! We had about 4 or 5 inches of snow today - the heavy, wet stuff. Hard to shovel, but looks so pretty on the trees :)

The year just zipped by for me, too. Our winter has been nearly non-existent as well. And Katie Cat is adorable!

Happy New Year, Patricia!

Pat - Those spring flowers are just gorgeous, aren't they? I'm glad you'll see them even if only for a bit. And it's good to hear that Katie's doing well. I know all about pets running the house...
