Three Reasons Why I Don't Have a Serious Writerly Post Today:
1. I tried to write a funny article about how writers need to have a sense of humor about reviews. That turned out to be harder than I thought.
2. My car needs me to drive it to the car wash because a really big bird unloaded on the hood and it looks icky.
3. Bloggers just want to have fun.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Pat - those seem excellent reasons not to compose a long, thoughtful writerly post. You could make a great story about that bird and the car and a wacky trip to the car wash, too...
I've found humor to be one of the toughest things to write!
I laughed out loud at the first one! And damn those birds.
Margot, I think my sense of humor needs to be rebooted. The car wash idea might be just the thing.
Li, it is difficult. And trying too hard to be funny never really works.
Alex, thank you. And that proves my point. I wasn't trying to be funny with #1. :)
Enjoyed your reasons for no serious post today. Birds can be troublesome at times.

Thoughts in Progress
Excellent reasons. Carry on. You can't force funny, isn't that sad? (and somehow ironic at the same time?)
Whaaat? No funny stories about rejections, Pat? And I thought everyone wallpapered their bathrooms with those nasty things. Guess I'm just hopelessly weird. :-)
Mason -- and big birds or flocks of geese more troublesome than most.
Elspeth -- when I'm funny, it's usually an accident.
Cindy -- I can paper my walls with rejections, but they don't really bother me. It's the reviews from readers that I wanted to have a sense of humor about and failed.
