Wednesday Potpourri

Tomorrow's Guest

I'm pleased to have mystery author Nancy J. Cohen as my guest tomorrow. Her post offers suggestions for making our characters more interesting.

Susan Spann's Great News

Remember my guest from last Thursday, Attorney Susan Spann? Her mystery series just sold to Thomas Dunne Books in a three book deal. Congratulations, Susan!

The Night Before Father's Day

Check out the cute cover art for this new book from Northern Colorado children's author, Natasha Wing. The Night Before Father's Day is intended for ages three and up, is now available for pre-order. Natasha is scheduled for a guest appearance here on May 10th.

Laura Resau's Book Giveaway

To celebrate the February 14th release of Laura Resau's latest novel for ages 10 and up, The Jade Notebook, she is giving away books on her blog, Ocean in a Saucer. Follow the link right away because you only have until Sunday midnight MT (2/19/12) to leave a comment and be eligible. Laura is another one of Northern Colorado's fine authors.

A Fun Post on How to Write a Synopsis

I enjoyed this post from writer Giles Hash at his blog, High Aspirations: How to Write a Synopsis. I hope you enjoy it too.

What I'm Reading

The Second Mouse Gets the Cheese: How to Avoid the Traps of Self-Publishing by Carolyn Schriber. I'll be reviewing this book later in the month.

I've been reading Carolyn Schriber's book as well and like the approach she takes. I need more time to read and do everything else!

3 book deal? Sounds kind of nice.

Pat,
Thank you so much for the link to Giles Hash's post "How to Write a Synopsis." It is so true. I hate writing synopses!
