The most helpful blog post on writing I read this week was by Kathryn Craft at The Blood-Red Pencil. It's called Busted! - Edward Stewart Caught Telescoping POV.
I'm reading Duma Key by Stephen King. Makes me want to get off the computer and just read all weekend.
Today will be the day I get my sun tea jug out of the back of the cupboard and set a mixture of green tea, Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer, and Peppermint tea bags out to brew. Hopefully the sun will cooperate.
The Farmer's Market that's only a hop, skip and jump from my house has opened for the season. Last week I picked up homegrown asparagus. Today I'm hoping to find a bit of rhubarb so I can make the Caramelized Rhubarb Custard Pie with Fresh Strawberries featured on my friend Angela's Seasonal and Savory blog last year.
A new business in our area, Urban Farm Company of Colorado, intends to encourage 1,000 new urban gardeners to grow their own food. The owner, Bryant Mason, installs ready-to-grow raised garden beds and will even do the planting and coaching for customers if needed. He's going to pay a visit to my yard next week and help me decide where to put two 4x4 raised beds to replace the regular garden in the back of the yard that became infested with thistles and is now filling in with grass. I want the new beds closer to the house where they'll be easier to water and weed. I'll do my own planting, but building the beds and loading them up with good dirt was more than I wanted to tackle myself. This be much nicer.
As for writing, I'm still doing umpteen things at once. I've come to realize I like it that way.

Pat - Those spring weekends when you can start to really feel the warm weather come back are so nice aren't they? Farmers markets are a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy your trip there :-).
Hi Pat - that's great the Farmers' Market is nearby .. and isn't that great that the new business will come out help get you set up .. then fresh vegs are so delicious ..

Hi Margot and Hilary -- our summer started in March this year, which is very bizarre. It's also super dry. I'm hoping the three days of cool and potential rain forecast for Denver gets this far north, because we need the break.
As for gardening, I'm very excited to get back to my favorite productive hobby. I'm planning on lots of green beans, several herbs, and, hopefully, my first successful crop of tomatoes since I've been in Colorado. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I've never heard of sun tea jugs before. Interesting.
I read Duma Key years ago. It did make me want to read, read, read.
Gardening isn't my thing, but I like the idea of someone installing garden beds.

Mmm! Rhubarb. One of the things I try to bring back from the UK when I visit. We shopped at the Mercado des Agricultores and I had local grown strawberries and peaches with Greek yogurt for breakfast today.
