Bugs in the Wires?

I don't know what's going on with our Internet access but I don't have it all the time. My hubby is pretty good with wire and cables and connections and splitters and all those things I don't know much about, but he actually had to give up and call our phone/Internet/etc provider since all that stuff is bundled...and you know what that means.

It means aggravation and frustration and moments of hair-tearing-out and profanity-spewing. Yes, even me. When I work hard to write a blog post or a long e-mail and hit "Publish" or "Send" at the same moment my connection drops, I'm more than just a little annoyed.

Hopefully, I'll stay connected long enough to get a few tasks done this weekend. In the meantime, if you don't see me around much on Facebook and Twitter, or visiting your blogs, this is the reason.

At least I can get on Word and write, right?

Maybe you just need a new router.
Every time you write something longer than a short paragraph, copy it before hitting the button. That way if the Internet does go out, you can paste it into Word and save for when the Internet comes back.

I HATE trying to fix tech troubles - I know nothing and even at that I know more than my family... good luck!!!

Alex, yes, I learned that yesterday when I found what was left of a long e-mail in draft and it only included the first two sentences. I won't make that mistake again. I've already suggested the new router idea to the hubby, so we'll see what happens.

Jemi, I rely on my husband for anything to do with wires and connections, but he's been struggling with this one. I'm trying to be helpful with lots of suggestions... :D

Pat - I am so sorry to hear about your Internet problem! So frustrating! I know exactly what you mean too about how that kind of thing can drive you crazy. I hope it's fixed soon.

Me too, Margot. It would almost be better to have it go out completely (which would send me to a coffee shop with my laptop), than to have it work fine for a while and then suddenly go dead. Very frustrating.
