Chilly, Dreary Days Are Good Writing Days

They're also good "curl up in a comfy chair with a cup of coffee or tea and a good book" days.

I'm hoping to do a lot of both today.

This morning and early afternoon will be all about word count.

This afternoon I want to spend some time reading a book sent to me just because the author thought I'd enjoy it ... and he's right. The book is called In Dreams and the author is Gary Sand. Much of the novel takes place in the 60s, so the history is meaningful. Much of the story is set in Colorado, where I now live. And the story, oddly enough has some parallels to my own life, which is something Gary would not know.

This, to me, is another one of those amazing examples of serendipity ... or synchonicity ... that occur on a regular basis in my life.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. And if it snows where you live, make a snowman...or at least a couple of snowballs.

Snow? Chilly weather? We're to be in the 80's today. For me, that's the best reason to hide indoors.

I actually like being outside on cool wet days, but I agree, they're nice for doing things inside. :)

Alex and G.E., I welcome fall and cool temperatures after a long, hot summer, but it's the sunshine that lures me away from my cozy nest...and I doubt we'll get any of that today. Early next week, however, it will be nice enough to get outside and finish my garden cleanup.

My husband and I took an hour-long walk in our forest preserve (we live there and are the managers), and enjoyed the colorful display, saw 6 blue herons, and other birds ready to head south.

The odd coincidence sometimes visits me as well. Of course, my husband and I are telepathic with each other, and he is more psychic than I am, so such things are not uncommon to us either.

Lorelei, it sounds like you have a wonderful place to walk in any weather.

I'm not sure I'd want to be telepathic with my husband... :D
