I Stopped the Merry-Go-Round and Went to the Movies

Honestly, is there anything more frustrating than going around in circles until you're dizzy? I spent yesterday making lists, setting priorities, and knocking off a couple of tasks with looming deadlines.

Holy merry-go-round! What was I thinking when I took part of Saturday off?

Yes, I admit it. One of the reasons I had so much to do yesterday is because I escaped to the movies on Saturday. Had a wonderful time hiding in the dark, munching on a little deadly movie popcorn (with butter), and watching Red 2. It's a fun, entertaining escape movie with delicious car chase scenes, fade ins and outs with comic book drawings, and ridiculous and complicated transitions, gunfights, and general craziness. I loved it.

I'm thinking I might do it again next weekend. That Sandra Bullock movie looks like a winner.

Every now and then, you just have to see a movie! So many came out this past weekend that I couldn't decide, so I stayed home. Next weekend I'm going though.

Pat - I think that's part of what gives us our energy to get things done - escaping now and then. We all need a restorative. Glad you enjoyed the film.

We definitely need that time to escape and re-energize. Glad to hear Red 2 is good. It looked like it would be a fun movie from the previews.

Good for you! I'm looking forward to seeing "The Heat," too. I'll have to watch Red 2 by myself as husband does not like Bruce Willis at all.

Back in my real world work days (as opposed to writing world work), I destressed by going to the movies by myself every weekend. I'd usually hit the first showing of the day to avoid the crowds. Maybe it's time to put that habit back in my schedule...if I can just skip that deadly popcorn. :D

I kind of want to see that Sandra Bullock movie too! I'm a firm believer that a little self-nurturing pays dividends in sanity and restoration. :) Good for you!

Sounds like it's time to talk my hubby into a movie again! :)

I saw RED 2 this weekend, too. And loved it. I just happen to have also seen the Sandra Bullock. (Only two movies I've seen in ages and you mentioned them both.) Go see it. I think you'll enjoy it.
