God Willing and the Creek Don't Rise...

By the time you see this post, I'm hoping the rains have stopped in Colorado, the search and rescue helicopters are back in the air, and the count of missing folks has come way down because of successful rescues.

Yesterday when I was writing this post, it was pouring down along the Front Range and in the hills, causing more damage and dangerous conditions. Our house is high and pretty far from the rivers, so I'm hoping we stay dry. Lots of other folks need our help, so if you feel the urge to give, The Salvation Army and the Red Cross are doing great work here. This is a link from The Denver Post that lists opportunities to help and advises ways to avoid scams.

Here's the link to an aerial video of my part of Colorado from a few days ago: http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20130913/NEWS01/130913002/VIDEO-Aerial-tour-of-Fort-Collins-and-Loveland-floods

Pat - Thanks for sharing ways in which we can help those affected by these terrible floods. It's good to hear that you're safe, and I, too, hope the rains stop soon.

Although we're getting a lot more rain than usual, we are safe in the western part of Colorado. My heart and prayers to all the areas on the front range being hit so hard. It's been a rough couple of years for our state. Glad you are out of harm's way so far.

My heart and thoughts go out to all of y'all in Colorado. So many have lost so much between the fires and now the floods. Hope y'all know just how much the rest of us hurt for you, but also admire your perseverance and resolve to see better days.

The news footage has reached even here in"remote Western Australia". Looks pretty terrible. I hope you and all your loved ones are safe.
