I Finally Got My Rear in Gear with Google+

I've had Google+ on my To Do List forever and a day. Now I've finally added the bare bones of a profile, tried to figure out what should be public and what should be private, and added some links as well as a new photo.

I don't understand it all yet, especially the connecting and networking part, but I'll do my homework and eventually figure it all out.

Becoming active on Goodreads is next on my agenda. I have an author presence there, but haven't spent any time adding and rating books I've read, posting reviews, or connecting with friends.

I tried to learn some lessons from Diane's post on structuring our lives (just scroll down, it's right below this post). Getting more organized is going to be a crucial part of staying sane throughout 2014 (and beyond, I hope).

The next couple of weeks will be difficult. My favorite Olympic events, covering everything from snowboarding to ice skating to almost everything else, are calling me. I hear them right now.....

I'll go find you on Google+ then! You can connect it to your Blogger profile, but that makes it harder for people to find your blog.

When I saw the title of this post, I had to come and read it and wish you good luck. I do everything in Google, except Google+. I don't like the format of the Google+ blogs and find some of them very confusing. On some you have a very hard time finding the latest post, whereas others are much more straightforward. I don't know what the difference is. Maybe they are good for networking when you want to promote your books. Anyhow, I hope it works out for you.

Welcome to Google+, Pat! I've found it very helpful and it really is straightforward to use once you get used to it. On my way to find you there now.

I found you on Google+. I haven't figured out how it helps me but I'm there. I do use Goodreads.

Thanks, Alex, Margot, and Susan.

Inger, I resisted Google+ for a long time but finally decided I wanted to be where the action is. Maybe if I do something very uncharacteristic and read all the instructions??? :D

Good luck with google+. Some sites switching over no longer allow comments (unless you sign up too), which feels forced to me. Glad that's not the case here.

I think the rest of life should be put on hold while we all watch the Olympics! :)

Off to find you on G+

Sharon, if that happened I would be very aggravated.

Hi Jemi. I agree about the Olympics. I love the winter events and hate that I can't watch them all.
