Ta Da...I'm Giving Away Two Advance Review Copies of Dead Wrong

Dead Wrong is now available for pre-order at online booksellers. They say the release date is December 10, 2014 so that's probably when they'll be able to ship the book. My publisher's release date is November 19, 2014 and that's what I have on all my promotional materials.

I'm giving an ARC to two different readers who leave a comment on this blog between today, (September 20th) and midnight Mountain Time Monday, September 22nd. I'll select the winner using random.org and announce the winners on Tuesday. This contest will be open to anyone anywhere.

Blurb for Dead Wrong: Lynnette is a woman on the run from her abusive cop husband, but she’s dead wrong about who’s chasing her. A thug known as Fat Ass Sammy Grick carelessly switches laptop cases at the airport and puts Lynnette in greater danger from Sammy’s boss and the killer sent to retrieve the laptop contents. Then Lynnette finds out her husband was murdered and she’s a person of interest....

Advance Praise for Dead Wrong

“Intrigue, vengeance, battles of wits and will . . . all the ingredients for a fast-paced suspense from a fresh new voice.”
—Sophie Littlefield, author of the Stella Hardesty mystery series, dystopian Aftertime series, and suspense novels for adults and YA

“Stoltey’s Dead Wrong has breakneck pacing and one of my favorite themes: a woman on the run. It’s a fantastic combination of suspense and action from a new writer on the suspense scene.”
—Jamie Freveletti, #1 Amazon bestselling author of Dead Asleep and author of Robert Ludlum’s The Janus Reprisal

“Lean and lightning-paced, Patricia Stoltey’s Dead Wrong is both a finely plotted and heartthumping thriller as well as a cautionary tale: never marry an abusive cop, never unintentionally switch carry-on bags with a psychotic killer when flying coach, and never, ever under any circumstances pick up this book if you hope to get anything else done the rest of the day.”
—David Freed, author of the Cordell Logan mystery series (Flat Spin, Fangs Out, and Voodoo Ridge).

Hi Patricia .. I love the cover with headlights rushing us, the reader. Sounds like you've got all the bases covered .. and good luck with the release, then sales.

Love the thought of who's doing what and what for - lots of lead ins here .. the blurb intrigues .. while the advance praises show you should be on to a winner ... and you'll be Dead Right on Dead Wrong ...

Cheers have a good weekend - Hilary

Dead Wrong sounds like an intriguing story with a fast pace, just the kind of book I like to read. Best of luck with it, Pat! :)

Fantastic! Those blurbs are wonderful. I can't wait to read what inspired such reviews!

Patricia Stoltey said...

Thanks, Karen. It's certainly a change of pace from the Sylvia and Willie mysteries.

Patricia Stoltey said...

Welcome, C.J. I was very excited to receive those blurbs, and from three of my very favorite authors, too.

Congratulations, Pat. It sounds as though you've hit a home run; no, a grand slam. Can't wait to read it.

Hi, Pat, this sounds like a terrific book. You have great blurbs! And, eerily, it brings to mind an incident in my area a few months ago.

Patricia Stoltey said...

Hi JP -- thanks for stopping by. My elders (Mom and aunt) also gave it a thumbs up, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Susan, I can only tell you I would not like to live through my main character's experiences in this novel.

I want to be at your first speaking event and ask you repeatedly about Fat Ass Sammy Grick. Man, I just want to hear you say that over and over!

Congrats on the book release. Looking forward to reading Dead Wrong.

Hi Pat! I will be ordering this - unless I'm a lucky winner!

Pat did not pay me for the following comment...

I'm looking forward to your next suspense novel (pause for dramatic effect here). You are the greatest writer in the known universe. If I could I'be Pat's -- what is this --footstool...

All right, Pat. That's it! I can't read any more.

Holy crap, batman! This sounds like one heck of a story! The cover is also very eye-catching; the headlights look very creepy... Thanks for the opportunity and congrats on the new book! :)

Time to catch up -- I was off at the farmers' market buying goodies. It's a beautiful day for that kind of thing.

Okay, Dean, I can say Fat Ass Sammy Grick as many times as you want. Talking like Sammy....well, that's another story.

Hey, Dave, is that really you or did Dottie sneak a comment in here using your Facebook ID? Regardless, WELCOME!

LOL, Rich. You would make a terrible footstool. Just bring chocolate!

Sharon, I'm a big fan of Five Star novels and their authors. It's a great place to find a good read.

Patricia Stoltey said...

Cara, thank you so much. All word-spreading is appreciated (and Rich is bringing extra chocolate for all my friends).

LadyDi77 -- the cover art on Five Star novels is one of the great perks of having them as your publisher.

Hi Clarissa. I once drove through a snowstorm like that to get home from work. It's creepy in real life, too.

Well who can resist this offer? Of course, I'm already a fan. Congratulations on the release, Pat!

Patricia Stoltey said...

Janet, I'm just hoping there's a world of readers out there who will feel the same way.

Thanks, Julie! Any snow in your part of Colorado yet? I figure we'll get a blizzard on whatever day I schedule a book signing.

Hi Ruth. It was an interesting transition from amateur sleuth to fast-paced suspense. I hope it works for the reader.

Hmmm...maybe I should give away more than two copies....

Welcome, Mary! I'm pretty fond of that cover, too.

Elle, it's true. Dead Wrong has been in the works a long time.

Thanks, Pam! The blurbs are definitely a nice bonus.

Thank you, Rachna. I guess you can tell I'm very excited.

LOL, Mark. It's lovely when a friend offers to save me a little time. Thank you.

Hey, Janet! It was so good to see you at Colorado Gold. I was sorry I didn't have a book in time for the big book sale, but having it out before Christmas is fantastic.

Sure hope "a great cover" leads to great sales. All those marketing saws must have a grain of truth in them. Right?

I'm looking forward to reading your "bad guys' bad language".

Patricia Stoltey said...

Hi Barbara! I happy about that, too. Shifting sub-genres was harder than I thought it would be.

Me, too, Kay! :D
