But I agree--I'm a writer because I write. So there! Something that made me feel all "official" was making my own business cards. The first title I used was, of course, Writer. I've always told myself (and still do) that you'll never get anything published if you don't write and if you don't send out what you write (this is true of any endeavor--it's the doing of it). <br /><br />Waiting (for responses) and dealing with rejection are indeed the biggies for a writer. Laura - You...Patricia - Thanks for hosting Laura. <br /><br />Laura - You really make such an important point about the need to be patient and to persevere. I've found both to be absolutely essential. I think all of that takes a lot of self-discipline, which requires commitment.
