Sometimes We Just Need Yellow Flowers

I can't think of too many things that cheer me up in the same way yellow flowers do. I think it has something to do with the rambling, yellow roses on our farm that used to bloom around my birthday each year when I was a kid. It always seemed as though they bloomed just for me.

A friend gave me three daylilies last year. I'm not good with daylilies, but this one proved hardy enough to tolerate its lack of attention.

Hedge roses are also tough enough to survive in their corner of my neglected garden. These keep blooming, in spite of me.

What does this have to do with writing? Blogging authors ask that a lot, don't they. Well, frankly, this post doesn't have much to do with anything except yellow flowers. I hope you like them.

I love them! Yellow has become my favorite color as an adult. So cheery!

I love flowering plants. It's one reason I enjoy living in Florida where something is always in bloom regardless of the season.

I love flowers, trees, shrubs, bushes, and all. If I had to do it all over again, I might open a nursery. I can almost smell them. Sometimes I walk around Home Depot's garden section and look at the plants for inspiration. Thanks for the pictures.

What lovely flowers. I, too, love yellow flowers. Can't help but smile. The last line of your post made me smile as well. Thanks, Patricia. Needed this today.

Well, Wordsworth wrote about daffodils in the same way. True, different flower, but, they're yellow--and the idea is the same. So, there’s linkage to writing.

His last stanza reads…

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Best regards, Galen

Nice quote, Galen. I saw a field of daffodils once, but don't think I took a picture. Must look back in my old albums to make sure.

I love doing the occasional photo post. I'm pleased y'all like the posies. Now must go tweet my tweeps and let them know.
