What strikes me most about this trailer is that it is only half a minute long! I like this. With trailers, the shorter the better I've started to think. Maybe no longer than a minute at most. Like the background music in this one.
Mason - Thanks :-)! I was really happy with the music, too. Since the victim in this novel is a violin virtuosa, I wanted to reflect that in the music. I'm glad you picked that up.
Monti - Thank you :-)! I actually debated about how long the trailer should be. In the end, I opted to have the professional who made it just do 30 seconds. Like you, I think shorter trailers have more impact than longer ones do.
Jemi - I wish I could take credit for that. The professional who made the trailer suggested those words, and I think she was right. A few words to telegraph meaning can really grab the reader's attention.
Sorry not to give you warning, but you're so alert and such a faithful follower that you got here before I logged on this morning. I haven't been posting on weekends, but decided quick (and short) features like book trailers make great bonus posts.
I like this trailer a lot for many of the reasons already mentioned. Now must go tweet the word.
Patricia - No worries! I so very much appreciate that you posted my trailer *blush*! Who needs a PR agent with blog-buddies like you?? And your followers are great folks :-).
KK Brees - Thank you so much :-)! I was really very pleased with the way the professional who did this put it together. What I liked best was that she really paid attention when I let her know what the book is about, etc... And I hope you'll enjoy the novel :-).
I'm just hoping I get another book published so I can do a book trailer. Now that I know how effective they can be at selling books (since I've bought three because of book trailers), I'm completely sold on the this marketing option.
And to think, at the beginning, I said, "Nah, I never look at book trailers." How times change.
Patricia - Yes, they sure do! I actually debated about getting one at first. But I think that, overall, it was a good choice, and when my WIP is finished, I'll probably get one done for that, too.

Janet - Thank you :-)!
Yvonne - Thanks for the kind words :-).
What a good example that trailers don't have to be long. Wonderful background music and motives.
Kay - Thank you for the kind words :-). I agree that short trailers can be very effective and I'm glad you liked this one.
I love her book trailer.
I think I've told you that before, Margot. Haven't I? If not, shame on me.

Clarissa - Awww.... Thanks :-). That means a lot, especially coming from someone who put together as terrific a book trailer guide as you did...
