Girls Trek Too
This is your chance to win a copy of They Only Eat Their Husbands: A Memoir of Alaskan Love, World Travel, and the Power of Running Away by Cara Lopez Lee. The rules are at this post at Cara's blog, Girls Trek Too. The deadline for your entry is midnight, November 22nd.
Can you honestly resist a book with a title like that?
Stacy Juba: Mysteries, Murder & More...
Not only can you win an advance reader's copy of Stacy's mystery suspense novel, Sink or Swim, but she also has the list of 175 blogs participating in I Am a Reader, Not a Writer's Gratitude book giveaways.
That's 175 blogs to visit and 175 giveaways. You know you don't want to miss that.
Northern Colorado Writers is Sponsoring a 2011 Writing Contest
This contest is open to all writers, not just NCW members. Categories include short fiction, personal essay, poetry, articles, and cover design. Winning entries will be published in an anthology. For the submission rules and deadlines and the contact information, go to the 2011 Contests page at the Northern Colorado Writers website.
And Last But Not Least...
I'm giving away one copy of NCW director Kerrie Flanagan's 2011 Writing Planner: Organization, Inspiration, & Motivation to Achieve Your Writing Goals. This planner is a goal-setting and organizing tool, as well as a 2011 calendar. It includes helpful website links, writing prompts, and book recommendations.
To enter, leave a comment and your blog url or other contact information on today's post by midnight (U.S. Mountain Time) tomorrow, Saturday, November 20th. I'll use my usual method to select a winner (I number entries and then draw numbers from a little box -- it's very scientific). Doesn't matter what corner of the world you call home, you're eligible.
Have a great weekend.

Patricia - Wow - such a lot of very cool competitions! Thanks very much for spreading the word about them :-).
Thanks for sharing all these great links. I love the first title, kind of makes you wonder if the author is talking about bears or people. LOL Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Good morning, Margot. I need to find the time this weekend to cruise through the whole 175 listed at Stacy's blog. Lots of fun.
Mason, Cara is a Coloradoan now. I'm hoping she does a book signing in my neighborhood one of these days, since I missed her launch party in Denver. I'd love to meet in person.
Hi Ann, Good luck with your entries. Let me know if you win any.
Ooh, that writing planner looks great!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Such alot of give aways, thanks for the chance.
Have a lovely week-end;
Yvonne.
The planner is nice. I bought one for myself, too, hoping my goal-setting skills will improve with diligent use. We'll see.
Thanks so much for sharing the link - that was so nice of you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Patricia, your support of fellow writers is so uplifting. I appreciate your mention of my book, and all the books you post here. I'm eager to meet you in person, too. I'll have evening readings at Denver's Tattered Cover in either Dec or Jan, at the South Boulder Reading series at Vic's Coffee in Jan, and at the Denver Woman's Press club on Fri, Feb. 4. I'll keep you posted! Meanwhile, I'm now a member of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers - my next book is a novel - so I suspect I'll run into you soon!
Thanks, too, for the contest info. I'm not sure I would have heard about it otherwise, and I'll definitely enter.
A planner? I need all the help I can get.
I am also eager to see the new NCW logo when it gets rolled out. (At the event on 12/4?)
Thanks Patricia
Such great giveaways, Pat! That's good of you.

Wow, lots of great links! I'll be exploring once I've hit my word count today! :)
The planner looks awesome! I'm sure it would beat my yellow lined notepads. I can always use more organization. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I've seen the planner and boy howdy could I use the organization of it. As a new member to Northern Colorado Writers I'm always looking for guidance. Thanks for the hosting giveaway! Awesome website by the way!

Yeah! A giveaway! Pick my number please! :-)
Hi again! Pardon my absence most of yesterday, but my laptop had a crisis over the latest iTunes update and wouldn't let me connect to the Internet. I could have worked at a different computer, but I felt compelled to hover while my genius husband worked through the fix with our virus protection support lady. It took a long time, and hovering is exhausting.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who has left a comment so far. I'll post the winner of the planner tomorrow, and we'll also be posting the winner of the $15 gift certificate toward the glass art accessories from Joyce Elson Moore. Stay tuned...
Wonderful links to visit. On my way. And planner is fabulous idea!

I could really use the 2011 Writing Planner.
I always appreciate your updates both on the blog and in the Yahoo group. So much good stuff I wouldn't know about otherwise! Thank you!
Pat,
Lots of good things are happening at NCW. You all really rock!
I could really use a 2011 planner, because I can't afford to replace the "amazing" day planner I've been using for so long.
Me! Me! Me!
I hope that sounded appropriately "beggish!"
