~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know why I have such a problem coming up with a topic for my Monday posts. Maybe it's because I take off Saturday and Sunday? I should probably write my Monday posts on Friday, before my brain takes off for the weekend.
Anyway, I'm a busy lady this week with critique groups, writing group events including a presentation by journalist Greg Campbell who just returned from "getting the story" in Libya, a launch party for our Senior Center's Mountain Scribe Anthology, and a Sandra Dallas book signing.
And somewhere in there, I need to create a schedule for the revisions of my suspense novel, Dead Wrong, which I now plan to pitch to an agent in September at the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Colorado Gold Writers Conference. I'm starting to get excited about writing again after a pretty long stretch of doing everything but. But first....a nap.
Pat - I wish you much success with Dead Wrong. I'm very eager to see what you do with the suspense sub-genre :-). And thanks for spreading the word about the contest and the other giveaway.
Maybe Mondays should be schedule days. You could post them for accountability and your own needs. We promise not to be too bored!
I struggle with Monday posts, too. At the moment, I'm set for the week though.
At least you got your post up already for today. I'm off to work on mine. Good luck with the revisions and don't despair when they seem endless.
Thanks, Margot. If I were really good at this, I'd turn it into something I could call a thriller. We'll see what happens during revisions.
Hi Michele -- I'm sure posting my week's schedule will bring lots of hits. Especially during those weeks where every day is all about revisions. :)
Hi Diane -- I'm quite envious of those who schedule a whole week of posts ahead...but I never seem to work up enough steam to do it myself.
Good morning, Kay. I know about that endless revision thing. I have another manuscript I've revised about six times so far and I'm still not happy with it nor do I know what to call it.
Thanks for all you do and the information and enjoyment you provide. If Dead Wrong is ready for revisions, no wonder you need a nap. And deserve a nap. Pat, take a nap!
LOL, Edna. I did exactly that yesterday afternoon and it felt so great I'm going to do it again right after lunch today. :)
Read this one hour before going to work, and now all I can think of is taking a nap. Good for you...take care of yourself first. Oh...just a head's up, the next Monday is only 7 days away.
Patricia Stoltey said...
Talli -- the weeks I love the most are the ones where the dates are all empty...no meetings, no events, no appointments. Doesn't happen very often though.,
Yvonne, you do a much better job of visiting blogs than I do. You deserve your 400 plus more.
Dean, I think it's becoming a habit. Kerrie tells me a power nap is supposed to be 20 minutes long. I take three power naps in a row. :)
Nap is always a good start to a day of writing.
Hi Patricia, it's been a while since I came over and you do sound very busy. I'm like you, I post at the last minute instead of scheduling a month ahead like some people I know.
Sounds like your week is a busy. Good luck with the revisions.
I hear you about Monday posts! Always seems difficult to jump back in after weekends. As far as getting to the writing, it's amazing the things a I can find to put it off! Napping always sounds wonderful!
Hi Patricia,
Thanks so much for mention the 2011 Weta Nichols writing Contest! We have extended the deadline to May 23, 2011, due to a glitch we were having with PayPal.
Winners will be announced at our annual conference July 23, 2011, but they are not required to be present to win.
Our conference will be fabulous, by the way. If anyone out there is within driving distance of Springfield, Missouri, please come!
We'll have a lit agent and editor from Avalon taking pitches.
Our speakers include Leigh Michaels, Shannon Vannatter, Eliza Lloyd, and Shannon Butcher. Details and the topics they will cover are here: http://ozarks-romance-authors.com/2011-annual-conference/
Thanks again!
