I wish I could tango.
There's more.
I wish I could tango like this sensual version starring Antonio Banderas from the movie Take the Lead.
Or Jennifer Lopez teaching Richard Gere in Shall We Dance.
Or this Argentine tango with Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough from Dancing With the Stars.
And so, you wonder, why don't I just take lessons?
I have bad knees, creaky joints, and I'm clumsy. My lack of coordination is legendary. I trip and fall down when there's nothing to trip over.
Back in disco days, when anyone could stand on a dance floor somewhere near another person who might be taken for a partner, wave her hands in the air, and sort of keep time to the music, I managed to land on my rear end in the middle of the floor.
But the tango...with Antonio Banderas...I wish...

Pat - When I was a kid I lived in Brazil for a short time. I saw and heard some wonderful tangos there and always have wanted to do that, too... And Antonio Banderas? Oooooh, yes!
Margot, I knew we had a lot in common. :D
my daughter the dancer--has been taking ballroom the last couple of years---one of the owners and teachers, look just like richard gere--and you should see him tango--go for it!
Hi Patricia - here on my A-Z blog jog and couldn't resist you "Tango" - it's one of my words today too. And it's nice to find someone else about my age! My blogspot is below if you feel like visiting.

I've been interested in learning to tango since the first time I saw Rudy Valentino dancing the tango in the 1921 classic The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I've taken dance before, but I never learnt too much Latin dancing.
My husband is 6'5" and I'm 5'3", so we're dance handicapped. I'd just like to be able to waltz.
I'm coordinated except when it comes to dancing!
Now, that sounds like a good idea! :)
Well, now...I can't help wondering if it is the tango or Antonio Banderas. Because if it is the tango, I'm just not sure my feet can move fast enough. But if it's Antonio Banderas...well, I'm just going to smile and wave :-)
Oh yes, to tango with Antonio. How grand that would be! I can't walk from one end of the house to the other without banging against something because I'm so clumsy.
I'm not a dancer, but watching people dance in real life and in movies makes me wish I could move like that.
You reminded me of the tango scene of "Scent of a Woman," that's my favorite!
