Here's what I have on my agenda:
1. Garden stuff: Remove the marigolds from my raised garden bed and replace them with seeds for something edible, probably short season green beans; yank out the stupid spindly tomato plant that has produced nothing and replace it with a big healthy tomato plant...providing the plant doesn't cost more than half a dozen fresh tomatoes purchased at a farmers' market; and harvest the bok choy and figure out what to do with it besides making more stir fry.
2. Boogie off to the Farmers' Market and try all the free samples and hopefully find something delicious for dinner.
3. Writing-related stuff: Do three critiques for the Tuesday writers' group meeting; pre-schedule a few blog posts; and proofread my manuscript and synopsis.
4. Walk Katie Kitty (yes, she has a little red harness and leash and loves to go outside...although I have to admit she walks me rather than me walking her).
5. Take a lovely nap.
6. Try to persuade my dear husband that it's too hot to cook and we really must go out to eat.
7. Make a big batch of popcorn and watch The Artist on DVD.

Pat - Sounds like you have a great day planned! That Farmer's Market sounds wonderful; we have a few here too. And it's good to hear you're making steady writing progress.
If you can achieve number six, that will eliminate several items on your list!

Sounds like a good plan for today. I will walk my dog, try to find a new pair of crosstrainers, and go listen to some music at Jazz Fest downtown.

Your farmers' market sounds interesting. I love wandering round those type of places and as for it being too hot to cook, you should come to the UK where you'll find that it's raining again! Have a good weekend.
I can't imagine trying to walk our cats!
The dog walks herself in our 1/2 acre fenced back yard, so with the energy I saved from not doing that, I hauled several wheel barrow loads of dirt and mulch into my new flower bed.
After I turn the compost, I'll pick the last of my cherry tomatoes, and some acorn squash.
That's all the work I have planned, but if the rain holds off this evening, I'm going cruising in my old Valiant convertible. Might even stop for a Sonic burger and a chocolate shake.
It's only 10:30 here and already too hot to do much outside. The cat has had her outside adventure, and I'm ready to run my errands.
I think the air conditioning in the car will get heavy use this morning...and I'll probably work up a sweat strolling from booth to booth at the Farmer's Market. I'll be back later...
Today is nearly over - it's 6.30pm - and I am going to take my laptop to the bar to show my Liverpool friends one of the blogs I follow. Saunders Photography is by the daughter of another blogger, and she has posted pictures of three giants who invaded Liverpool for three days!
After that it's chicken stir-fry and mashed potatoes, bought this morning in the farmers' market at San Isidro, Tenerife.
By the way - marigolds are edible. Leaves and flowers go in a salad.
Oh your day sounds heavenly Pat! Here it is nearly 5 pm and what have I done? My daily poem, my blog entry, a thousand words on my wip - Crossing Bright Angel. Hmmm...walked Hoagy, my dog, in the lovely woods and undid the dam one of my neighbours keeps building (it is a weird little game we have going). After I visit some blogs I'm going to make a g&t and sit on my deck and enjoy the fresh lovely air.
I wanted to stop by all my fave places and tell you that I’m sorry I haven’t been by much (or commenting). I’ve been on a tremendous writing jag – the likes of that I haven’t experienced since the year I left university (sixteen years ago – I was a late scholar). I have written 65 thousand so far since the beginning of June on a new book and fifty new poems (facebook every day with a photo). It is all great fun but it eats up all my time as I’m also working and trying to sell our house. I thought I’d take some time today and just tell you that I totally appreciate your blog and I will be back in full force soon! I have a mystery to revise and one to finish but I think I just revised too long and now I’m writing freeeeeee. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and hope the heat lets up a bit. Oh, and pass the popcorn!
Rob-bear, we ended up eating giant salads at home. I was too lazy to shower and change clothes. :D
Jan, what you've been doing sounds excellent. It does seem that blog-hopping and productive writing don't happen at the same time, so I'll happily cheer you on with the writing and consider doing the exact same thing.
I loved all the responses to this blog post. It's fun seeing what everyone is up to on their weekends.
And by the way, I thought The Artist was a unique and very good movie. I did not expect the ending to be what it was...but I won't say any more in case you haven't seen the film yet.
