Even though I had to venture out of my house today, I stuck to the bare necessities and then scurried back home for cover.
I needed K-Cups for our Keurig coffee maker, so I grabbed a couple of Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons and went to check out the parking lot. In a full lot, I was still able to grab a space in the front row not far from the door. There was a huge banner on the door that said 20% off every purchase, so I tucked my little coupons back in my purse for next time and took the opportunity to stock up. Wow! I scored two lucky breaks.
Barnes and Noble was nearby, and again I snagged a parking place close to the door. I took my weekend 30% coupon and hustled inside to pick up an appointment calendar for my Mom.
And that was all the retail shopping I could handle on a Black Friday.
I visited two grocery stores for the critical items (cat food, toaster pastries, and yogurt) and made a beeline for home.
Lots of folks love the thrill of the hunt for Black Friday bargains, but I find the full parking lots, adrenaline-filled mobs, and long lines at checkout not so thrilling.
So after my two hours out this morning, I put away the groceries, took a nap, and wrote this little blog post. Now I'm going to spend the rest of my Black Friday reading and watching more movies on television.
I hope you had a great Black Friday, too.

You brave soul! Glad you came out of it alive.
My Black Friday was great. I was up by 9:00 am and shopped online.
Pat - I must admit, I avoid Black Friday shopping unless there is no other option. Like Alex, I am an online shopper.. Glad you managed to get what you need and make it home intact. And hey, I wouldn't let anything get in the way of my coffee...
