D is for Drum: My A to Z Wish List

I wish I had a drum like this.

I keep talking about it but haven't gone drum shopping yet. My husband will probably think I'm nuts, especially since I already have a keyboard and rarely play it.

There's something special about a drum though. Gentle rhythmic beats are like the mantras chanted during meditation.

On the other hand, when less calm and eager to chase away frustration or stress, beating the heck out of a drum would feel so good.

Oh, Pat, what a neat idea! A drum! I can certainly see a good use for that if one's frustrated and as you say, it can be useful for calming, too. You're thinking of the coolest things for your wish list! I like the 'photo of you with the drum, too.

Hi Pat .. love the A for Agent - one day I hope I'll need one of those! Now the built in bookcases when I move again .. I'll definitely have those; my chiselled abs - are fighting the flab .. but I have started exercising (gently!) ..

If I had rhythm .. I'd love a drum - the movements drummers achieve with these knee drums are just wonderful - let alone the resonating sound ..

Cheers - good to be here finally -Hilary

I actually have a drum. It's a middle eastern one. I got it when I was working at a coffee house back in the 60's. I did learn a few basics about playing it, but mostly it's decorative now.

Hi Margot -- the more I think about it, the more I want it.

Hilary, we meet again. Isn't the A to Z Challenge like a big reunion?

Terry -- that's what has happened with my keyboard -- it's more of a conversation piece than anything else.

Good morning, Karen. One of my boys played drums back in high school, so I learned to enjoy them. When the next door neighbor boy took up drums, it was like reliving very pleasant memories.

I agree. There's something so soothing about the steady beat and the sound of a drum. Do they still have those drumming circles that were popular about 10 years ago?

Thanks for stopping by the Write Game to say hi. Good luck on the A to Z Challenge! New follower here.

Drumbeats are like heartbeats - so many moods to express. I hope that you can get your drum soon.

Hah, my son would like to play the drums because my husband did and just not ready for that yet. He plays the clarinet now and that is tolerable...

Oh Pat, what a great idea. A drum has so much to offer, the least is a connection to the universe. Really. It reminds me of when I used to play a baritone Ukelele until my son borrowed it for his KISS halloween outfit. Sigh, now I just hummm.

It's kind of ironic that you picked one of the oldest instruments for D and I did as well. I like drums too though. Great choice.

Go get yourself a drum! Beating the heck out of something sounds fun.

I know someone who has one of these. He can make music on it. Me... I'd just be making thumps. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs during April

A drum sounds like fun! I've never tried a drum like that - but I bet I'd like it! :)

Hey, friend!
There is an idea, for sure! I reckon maybe I could use one once in a while, too. I wouldn't be bothering anyone unless I went outside and got loud enough for the neighbors to hear. It would certainly irritate all the dogs around here. I reckon I must be one of the few people without a dog. Ha ha.

I'm visiting some random blogs on the A-Z list and it was so nice to see a familiar name!

I think a drum would be terrific. I find hammering my metal jewelry to be very therapeutic!

Just checking in from A to Z. You can beat on your drum when you want to feel like a rock star!

Yes I agree, I play guitar but sometimes after band practice I feel much better, like I just had a workout, so go get that drum.
