I wish I could go see the polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba in Northern Canada. There was an article in our local paper this weekend by someone who'd made the trip, so I've been thinking about it again.
Churchill has been on my bucket list forever, but it's a very expensive adventure. I've always had some other priority.
Might be a cool place to set a thriller. Then it would be research, right?
Or perhaps if my "L is for Lottery" wish ever comes true...

Pat - Oh, what a neat idea for a trip! I don't blame you at all for wanting to go. And yes, I can definitely see a mystery set there. Hmmmm...
If you get to go, take me along as a "research assistant". I'm very good at taking orders and I'm sure I can contribute adequately enough to a thriller involving polar bears :)
Ah hah! An adventurous sort you are. Hope your dream comes true. I don't care about the bears, but I'd like to see the aurora borealis.
I have a friend who used to work for the local Churchill paper. One day he went into work and the whole place - including the printing presses -- was just empty! His employers had packed up and moved to Mexico.
Such is life in Churchill!
Patricia,
It sounds like a great adventure...what a fun activity on your bucket list!
Better go soon, polar bears are an endangered species as their habitats are disappearing. I have always wanted to go there too, and I live in Canada.
Isn't it amazing how attracted many of us are to creatures like polar bears and pandas...is it their beauty?
the trip sounds lovely--isn't it a shame that money has to get in the way sometimes
Visiting Polar Bears is an exciting goal. I love traveling to places that can serve as a backdrop for a novel. Everything becomes an adventure.

That would be a great trip - I love your research idea... now get a creative grant and you'll be laughing!
An A to Z wish list- what a cool idea. I'm not sure if Manitoba would be on my list- I'm just not a cold weather girl.
Hope you make it to Churchill Patricia. Good P post.
Yvonne.
It sounds like it would be an awesome thing to do!
I'd love to go with you! Polar bears are such wonderful animals! :)
Polar bears are beautiful. I've seen them at the Denver zoo. Never in the wild...don't think I'd want to see one in the wild.
That would be an interesting trip. It would be research.
Polar bears. What awesome creatures! I'm with you on wanting to do this.
And I love your L for Lottery! Yay!!
I saw that you had retweeted one of my posts. Thank you! I'm having a difficult time this month commenting as I had to put my daughter for a few days the end of March in what they used to call the Psych Ward (it's now Behavioral Health, which is better), and have been trying to help her get out of her mental cloud. She's on good meds now and they're working. She's finally able to sleep well at night, and her moods have leveled (she's in early onset menopause, hot flashes etc. We women all know about this!) So it's a good thing I did all my posts in March or I wouldn't be posting anything! Just to let you know why I haven't been around. I hope to do catch up as, hopefully, maybe after another "family" blow yesterday, I can do it. (Life does sometime whack us!) Your posts will be on my list. They are always wonderful and right to the point! You are such a good writer!!
