I'd like to be an expert on something important. A real expert, the kind that might get called to serve as an expert witness in a big court case...or before Congress. Wow, testifying before Congress as an expert. That would stroke a person's ego, wouldn't it?
I know some experts like that. One is Jane H. Bock, forensic botanist. She knows so much cool stuff that she even gives lectures to crime writers.
Yep, I wish I was an expert on something important, just like Jane.

Pat - Oh, I know what you mean. I wish I were an expert, too. But I think we are all experts in what we write. No-one knows our stories and characters better than we who create them. So really, you are an expert :-).
I think everyone is a master of something - just have to find out what it is
we can always call ourselves experts--and hope no one asks too many questions :)
If I wrote in that genre, I'd want to know what she knows.
a lot of people are quite knowledgeable, they just don't have that piece of paper stating it. as far as obscure facts, google works wonders.
a lot of us are experts on life. You probably qualify :)
